At the site of the disposal center Leppe, in Lindlar, the company AVEA Entsorgungsbetriebe GmbH & Co. is operating the fermentation and composting plant Leppe.
In this project our task and aim was to realise a compost treatment plant. We carried out the basic evaluation, the planning and managed the tender procedure. In addition, we took charge of the construction supervision in authority of AVEA. The construction phase was realized with only little effects on the running operation of the plant.
The apllyed processing technology consists of a flip-flow screen, a wind shifter and adequate conveyor technology. The flip-flow screen divides the compost material into two fractions. The first fraction, the compost, consists of fine grains the second fraction consists of medium grains. The medium fraction is treated by the wind sifter to remove foreign material (mainly plastics). The flip-flow screen is especially applicable for moist and complicated sieving tasks. Using this type of screen improves the quantity of the fine fraction while the quality is consistent. Simultaneously the amount of fine material in the middle fraction is reduced. In succession of the increased output of lightweight material and compost, also the quality of the middle fraction is optimised.
Key project data:
Throughput capacity: approx. 30 t/h or 50 m³/h
