At MKW – Materialkreislauf- und Kompostwirtschaft GmbH & Co. KG, the first PV system at the site went into operation in mid-November on the roof of the West Hall. A total of 752 modules have been generating green electricity for plant operation ever since. pbo supported the project from the outset with a profitability analysis and subsequent planning. In addition, pbo coordinated the preparation of the plant certificate.
Among other facilities, MKW operates a mechanical biological waste treatment plant (MBA), a biowaste fermentation and composting plant, and further waste storage facilities at the site. In the coming years, the company plans to increasingly cover its own electricity needs with additional PV systems.
