Renewal of the Coarse and Fine Processing Systems

At the Großefehn site of MKW – Materialkreislauf- und Kompostwirtschaft GmbH & Co. KG in the district of Aurich, the coarse and fine processing systems of the composting and anaerobic digestion plant were renovated. The plant consists of a coarse processing system for the delivered biowaste and a fine processing system for the produced compost.
REMA Anlagenbau GmbH carried out the dismantling of the existing plant and the construction of a temporary facility for construction operations. Komptech GmbH installed and commissioned a new shredder. Eggersmann Anlagenbau GmbH installed and commissioned the new coarse and fine processing systems.
The coarse processing serves to break down the organic waste and remove foreign materials in order to prepare it for biological treatment. The fine processing consists of a two-stage screening and a multi-stage sorting process to remove any remaining foreign materials. The newly selected plant configuration made it possible to increase throughput and create more space for storage areas. At the same time, process efficiency was increased and maintenance accessibility was improved.
